i am not a goldfish breeder, but from what i know, they will spawn in "spawning mops" but i dont think that temp will play an important role, just not to cold.

I wouldn't start that cold. Temperature change really isnt a key factor with goldfish. They will basically do it as soon, and i mean as soon as they are ready and physically able. I would start the temp at more like 60 and slowly work your way up to about 70-75. Goldies will breed all throughout the summer temps. Like stated above, you can use a spawning mop or what I like to do is use water hyacinth. The roots work perfectly. If you want the majority of the fry to survive you should take the hyacinth out and put it into a empty tank for the eggs to hatch. (the parents will eat the eggs from the roots right away.) How big are your goldies, and are you sure you have a male and female?

Do you have a chiller? They will cost more than the tank and accesories.

What are you talking about???
There is absolutely.. NO.. need for a chiller!!! Im not sure why you even brought the idea of a chiller up but im guessing so she can start the process out at a lower temp. All you need to do for that is turn any heater or lights off for about a day, maybe two. You dont even need to start at a lower temp and raise it slowly, only if u prefer.
