I have a female betta and if shes not overly agressive I'd really like some neons. Ive always been of the "Schooling fish in nothing less than a 10" train of thought, but lately I have been rethinking it. So plants, a small school of neons, and maybe a female betta? Also, what happened to Kittens Small Stocking article. I found it but Kittens posts are gone. I'll do graffiti, If you sing to me in French. |

I would prefer the Cardinal Tetras as they are usually a hardier variety. Have a look in [link=My Profile]http:// www.fishprofiles.com/interactive/forums/profile.asp?userid=6741" style="COLOR: #00FF00[/link] for my tank info [link=Betta 11Gal Desktop & Placidity 5ft Community Tanks]http://photobucket.com/albums/b209/keithgh/Betta%20desktop%20tank/" style="COLOR: #00FF00[/link] Keith Near enough is not good enough, therefore good enough is not near enough, and only your best will do. If you go tetras, I'd go for about 3-4, only to keep the bioload down. Yeah, more is usually better, but the standard number of 6 seems to have been plucked from nowhere IMO, so a few less would not be a problem IMO. |

katieb Fish Addict Posts: 697 Votes: 69 Registered: 03-Jul-2004 | Id love some sparkeling gouramis, but they are no where to be found here or on the internet(shippings a pain too). Im not quite sure where six for a school came from, but i think it makes for a good minimum in most cases. However, if the tetras are non-aggressive and feel safe, I kind of have to doubt they'll care if their group is a bit small. Hope that helps, Ingo Last edited by LITTLE_FISH at 06-Dec-2005 18:22 |

I've noticed a lot of threads on tiny tanks popping up lately, so Im glad im not alone. I saw Bensaf's link in your thread, those tanks are amazing. :%) I'll do graffiti, If you sing to me in French. |

Inkling Fish Addict Posts: 689 Kudos: 498 Votes: 11 Registered: 07-Dec-2005 | I would'nt put the guppies with a female betta. Mine tried to eat my guppies. I also noticed when I was studying the bettas closely that females don't always do well in a community tank and some are as aggressive as the males are.... Basically, try to stay away from long fins.
