Hey guys, I am having problems with algea in my 48G aquarium and I would like to get a simease algea eater or 2. I currently have 1 keyhole chichlid, 2 serpea teteras 2 zebra danios 2 corys and 1 dwarf gourami, I had 6 Serpeas Danios and Corys but they have slowly passed away in the past year, diffrent causes.

So are all my fish compatible with SAE's? I want to get more fish soon so what fish should I stay away from? I say alot of Rams today and I would love to get a few for my aquarium, And when my Serpeas Die I would like to get some more Keyholes?

What do you guys think?

u should have no problem with 2 of them in there. or if you want something nicer, spend a little and get one of the nicer plecos that wont outgrow the tank

Fish tanks are an expensive addiction

My SAEs are among my favorite fish. They are excellent algae eaters and will eat algae that plecos will not.

I have 2 SAEs and they are a great addition to the tank. They eat most of the algae, not ever bit though. From all my reading online the main cause of the algae are over feeding, and too much light, ie light on for too long. Also regular walter changes will help control the algae.
