Mkcube Big Fish Posts: 457 Kudos: 153 Votes: 0 Registered: 07-Jul-2003 | More of a sky-blue tail but alas my tetras seem to only display their colors when their excited so the blue tail is usually drab unless it's feeding time or water change time. |

Mkcube Big Fish Posts: 457 Kudos: 153 Votes: 0 Registered: 07-Jul-2003 | On another note my lemon tetras hardly ever school anymore and most of the time hide in the plants. Well I guess "hide" isn't the right word here, because they are not doing this because they're scared. Some usually 3 or 4 chase each other around the tank while the others merge into the brush. Is this another sign of breeding behavior or something completely different? |

Mkcube Big Fish Posts: 457 Kudos: 153 Votes: 0 Registered: 07-Jul-2003 | Just one more question. Do you think that lemons can still look stunning in a tank with a black background but light-colored gravel? |
Posted 26-Jan-2006 11:37 | |
Littlecatjoe Fish Guru Posts: 2205 Kudos: 587 Votes: 3 Registered: 28-Aug-2001 | My gravel is lighter coloured and I have no background on the tank, but I have many live plants in there for them as well.. My Lemons have always been nicely coloured for me, although I notice their best colour is in the eyes and the fins. I feed mine flake food and the occaisional bloodworm or two. If they are stressed in the tank or getting on in age their colours fade out and become greyish. L. |
