I have a shoal of 8 of them! If you feed them a vaired diet, you will get the best coloration out of them.. a nice hue of yellow sheen on their bodies! Mine play with each other in the "pack" and pretty much stick to them selves, I would strongly reccomend for a community tank.. beautiful fish if you get them in a nice sized school, and they look good with a "darker" tank. Umm Mine have not bred yet, but i didnt intend on that ne way. I hope that this helps somewhat! Enjoy!

72 gallon bowfront:Tanganyikan Lake set up
75 gallon: A. Baenschi trio,Cyanotilapia Afra Cobwe(4), copadichromis trewavase, protomelas sp. tangerine tiger(breeding pair)

I agree with a varied diet for the best colors. I'd also recommend the largest school your tank could accommodate. I've personally found in smaller groups they tend to be shy. Pretty fish though

Lemon tetras are great little fish. If they are fed live foods, they can be quite colorful, and they have interesting personalities. I agree in that they are shy when kept in small groups, so a school of at least six or seven is best.

I have seven in my tank, two males, and five females. The fellas like to display at each other, and chase each other/the girls around the tank. I wouldn't keep these tetras with long-finned fish, because the lemons will occasionally nip at other fish's fins. I had a betta in with them, and they would sometimes take a bite out of his fins. Really though, they are peaceful most of the time. Males will 'joust' with each other, but no real harm occurs. I must say, lemon tetras are very cool fish.

By the way, mine spawn regularly, without me doing anything special for them. That's a nice little perk.

Some time ago I wrote a big Lemon Tetra post, but that was before the 'year zero' archiving. If you want, I can re-post it for everyone

Give me time to find it among the vast quantities of ditigal kitty litter on my hard drive and I will

[Edited because my fingers are still cold after 3 miles cycling in a force 7 easterly gale and I can't type properly ]
