Early this week my 13yld Chinchilla Persian died in my arms while at the local Vets. I must be getting old as it has never hit me so hard.
Talking on chat to Brengun & Gone Troppo last night Wed and with a bit of googling I located our local Animal aid. As soon as they opened this morning I was on the phone to them and less than 1hr later I got the one I wanted.

This is their photo not mine

Because Friday is a public holiday her visit to the Vet has been delayed therefore we willpick her up 10am Tuesday

Keith

Oh Keith I'm so sorry for your loss! I still have trouble with the pain of losing Vegemite.

We had gotten a new kitten soon after she was murdered, but it took a while for me to accept her. A new face does help some, but it never does replace the pain.

Very glad you could fine one that fits the bill, even if you do have to wait to pick her up.

^_^

They have said 1yld but that is just an educated guess. Waiting four days to pick her up is a bit hard.
At the moment she is in a small enclosure because of their over crowding.
The quicker I get her home the better.

Hi Keith,
I suspect that many of us who have pets have been through
what you have. It's happened to Susan and I several times
over the years and it never gets easier. When ever we have
to have a pet put down somehow, it seems that it's always
me who has to take them to the vet. This last time I sat
in the parking lot for nearly an hour afterwords before
I could drive safely.

I'm glad that you were able to find another to care for.
Sincerely,
Frank & Susan

Can not wait until 10am Tue to pick Sandy up
Went hunting today for a small bed and a climbing pole bed not a problem BUT climbing/scratching poles up to $250 then we saw a small put it together simple one about $10 no bells and whistles without all the extras but practical.

Have a look in [link=My Profile] http://www.fishprofiles.com/forums/member.aspx?id=1935[/link] for my tank info

Sorry Keith We buried my sister's cat last month after they put him down. He had feline leukemia and was supposed to live a maximum of 2 years, but he was well taken care of and lived to be almost 10.

She and her husband have two new kitties, but the above holds true, they can never replace.

Sandy's a cutie!

It is at these times you realize you are not alone and this helps the hurt to go away. I know we treat our pets like children but they fully depend on our loving care.

I went Internet shopping last night I bought a bed and a climbing/scratching/play area. Less than half price of the local pet stores.

Less than two days to go. 10am Tue Melbourne time

What a cutie Sandy is. I love torties. Give her a cuddle from me.
Sorry to hear of your other puss passing on. I too understand the grief. I believe she would of had a great life with you so find comfort in that.

I'm very sorry to hear of your loss Keith

Your new pet can't replace your old one but it will help you heal, and it will be in the very best of care I'm sure. Don't forget to buy it toys

I picked Sandy up this morning Tue29th. Already Sandy is eating different foods, wanting to be picked up and nursed. Other three cats a bit stand offish but not one hiss or snarl very surprising.

Photos to follow as soon as Sandy settles in a bit more.
Sandy has already noticed the fish tank and was watching their movements very closely.

He's probably too busy trying to pull her off the curtains! Or cuddles...

It took me a very long time to be able to photograph our new kitten after our old one was murdered....I'm sure we'll get our fix soon enough.

(tries to act like a patient adult while checking every few days excitedly to see if there are any new photos!)

I have the photos but not on computer yet. Taking photos easy she often sits on my desk looking into the Betta tank or sitting watching the CLs in the 5ft tank.
Been very busy not enough hrs in the day. I still have over 100 photos from the huge garden show to put on the computer and that was about one month ago.

Have a look in [link=My Profile] http://www.fishprofiles.com/forums/member.aspx?id=1935[/link] for my tank info
