Diet: Ominvore; The Marbled Sailfin Pleco will eat most any food offered, including processed foods such as algae wafers, flakes, and sinking pellets, many kinds of fruit and vegetables, and small live or frozen foods such as bloodworms. It will also scavenge on dead or dying fish if the opportunity arises. As with all plecos, this species needs a varied diet and it should not be expected to subsist merely on algae growing in the tank.
Care: Mainly herbivorous, brown algae will never be a problem this fish. Algae wafers, spinnach and zucchini are staple foods, however prawns, bloodworm & brine shrimp must be included as this species likes protein. Wood is chewed upon frequently. Wood of some description is a must as are caves, a good solution is to make them one and the same. Large filtration is required when fully grown as this fish produces lots of waste.
