| Gender: | Males are smaller and a deep pink (cherry) with a dark, speckled, central stripe and a hint of brown along the top. Females are much plumper and have a walnut brown stripe on top, then a dark, speckled, central stripe like the male with an almost golden stripe between. The rest of her body is off-white and she has cherry pink fins, also like the male. |
| Breeding: | Place pairs in a small, densly planted breeding tank. Remove the fish after spawning so they don't eat the eggs. The Cherry Barbs hang their eggs by a thread to the plants. |
